Calm Down Now Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 18, 2026
Calm Down Now LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Calm Down Now", "we", "us"), makes the Calm Down Now app and website. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We have kept it short because we collect very little.
The short version. We need an email address to give you an account. We collect basic, anonymous usage statistics so we know which parts of the app help people. Your journal, your favorites, your practice history, and your settings stay on your phone. We do not show ads, we do not sell your information, and we never share it for marketing.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Account information you give us
When you create an account you sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email link. We receive and store:
- your email address;
- your name, if the sign-in provider shares it or you enter one;
- a unique account identifier created for you.
If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we receive Apple's private relay address instead of your real one, and we never see your real address.
1.2 Purchase information
Subscriptions and lifetime purchases are made through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never receive your card or bank details. The app receives from Apple only what it needs to unlock what you bought: whether you have an active subscription or lifetime purchase, when it renews, and whether your Apple Account bought the original paid version of the app.
1.3 Usage information
The app records anonymous statistics about how it is used, through Google's Firebase Analytics. This includes events such as an audio being played, the paywall being viewed, a trial starting, or a journal entry being created (only that an entry was created, never its contents), together with your device model, operating system version, app version, language, and country. Firebase assigns your installation a random identifier for this purpose. We do not use Apple's advertising identifier and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
1.4 Crash reports
If the app crashes, it sends us a crash report through Google's Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the problem. A crash report contains the technical state of the app at the moment it crashed, your device model, operating system version, app version, and a random installation identifier. It does not contain your name, email, journal, or anything you typed. Crash reports are not linked to your account.
1.5 Information that stays on your device
The following are stored only on your phone and are never sent to us:
- journal entries and the prompts you chose;
- favorites, recents, saved sound mixes, and your practice history;
- theme, haptics, and reminder settings;
- reminder notifications, which are scheduled by your phone, not by a server;
- mindful minutes written to Apple Health, if you turn that on. The app can write to Health but cannot read anything from it.
If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it. We cannot recover it for you.
1.6 Information from Siri and Shortcuts
If you use Siri or Home Screen shortcuts to open or play something in the app, your request is processed by Apple and by the app on your device. We do not receive a record of what you asked Siri.
1.7 Information you send us
If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and improve the app.
2. How we use information
- To run your account and let you sign in on your devices.
- To unlock what you bought and keep original purchasers' classic content available.
- To understand what helps. Aggregated usage statistics tell us which audios and tools people return to, which guides what we make next.
- To support you when you contact us.
- To keep the Service safe and to comply with law.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with the companies that help us run the Service, and only for that purpose:
- Apple, which processes payments and delivers the app. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Google (Firebase), which provides our sign-in system, analytics, and crash reporting. Google processes this information on our behalf under its data processing terms.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. How long we keep information
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete it. Usage statistics in Firebase Analytics are retained for up to 14 months and are aggregated, so they cannot be linked back to you after your account is deleted. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your question and for our records.
5. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account from the Profile tab in the app. This removes your sign-in and the profile information we hold. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the app's access to your Apple ID.
- Turn off reminders in Profile, under Settings.
- Disconnect Apple Health in the Health app or in the app's Profile tab.
- Access or correct your information by emailing info@calmdownnow.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, usually by writing from the email address on your account.
6. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland
We rely on these legal bases:
- Performance of a contract, for account, purchase, and support information.
- Legitimate interests, for anonymous usage statistics that help us improve the Service, which we have balanced against your privacy given how limited the data is.
- Consent, for notifications, which your phone asks for and which you can withdraw at any time.
We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information there. Where information is transferred out of your region, it is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or the UK and Swiss equivalents) that Google and Apple include in their terms.
You also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would be grateful for the chance to address your concern first at info@calmdownnow.com.
7. If you are in California
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past twelve months. In the categories used by California law, we collect identifiers (email address, name, account identifier), commercial information (purchase status from Apple), and internet activity (anonymous usage statistics), for the purposes described in section 2. You have the rights to know, delete, and correct described in section 5, and we will not treat you differently for exercising them.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use the security features built into Apple's platforms and Google's Firebase, including encryption in transit, and we limit access to account information to the people who need it to run the Service. No system is perfectly secure, but the most sensitive information you create in the app, your journal, never leaves your phone.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The current version is always at calmdownnow.com/privacy, with the effective date at the top.
